Frequently asked questions
Digital Infrastructure World 2027, February 3–4, San Jose.
About the event
What is Digital Infrastructure World?
Digital Infrastructure World (DIW) 2027 is the AI infrastructure conference and exhibition held in collaboration with the Open Compute Project (OCP). It brings together the teams designing the rack and the teams building the data center: silicon, systems, networking, power, cooling and data centers, designed as one. It is organized by CloserStill Media, the organizer of Data Centre World and Ai4.
When and where is Digital Infrastructure World 2027?
February 3–4, 2027, at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center, 150 W San Carlos St, San Jose, California, in Silicon Valley.
How is DIW different from other AI or data center events?
Most events cover either IT hardware or data center facilities. As racks head toward 1MW and campuses toward gigawatts, the two have to be designed together. DIW puts both communities in one room: the Open Compute Project leads the rack programme (OCP Tech Day), and CloserStill Media, the organizer of Data Centre World, brings the data center, power and energy community. About DIW
Who attends?
Around 2.5K attendees from 500 companies: hyperscalers, neoclouds and GPU clouds, frontier AI labs, colocation and wholesale data center operators, enterprise IT, telcos, government and national labs, developers and investors, utilities and energy developers, and engineering and construction firms. Who attends
Who should attend?
Digital Infrastructure World 2027 is for the people who design, build, power, run or buy AI infrastructure: infrastructure and hardware engineers, platform and network architects, data center design and operations teams, power and cooling leads, technology executives, and investors and strategists. Each track maps to a set of roles: Rack for hardware and rack architects, Cluster for network and ML infrastructure teams, Data Center for design engineers and critical facilities managers, and Energy for power strategy, site selection and investment. Who attends
Programme and speakers
What topics are covered?
Mainstage keynotes on Open Systems for AI, then four tracks from the rack to the grid: Rack (OCP Tech Day, designing the 1MW rack), Cluster (AI clusters and networking), Data Center (building 1GW AI data centers, power and cooling) and Energy (power for AI campuses). Conference tracks
Who develops the programme?
The Open Compute Project programmes the Rack track (OCP Tech Day) and the Open Systems for AI keynotes. The CloserStill Media content team programmes the Cluster, Data Center and Energy tracks with engineers and operators from across the industry.
What is OCP Tech Day at DIW?
OCP Tech Day is the Open Compute Project event in San Jose on February 3-4, 2027, held at Digital Infrastructure World. OCP programmes the Rack track, opens all four tracks with OCP track keynotes on day 1 and programmes the day 1 Open Systems for AI keynotes. OCP members register at a dedicated member rate. See OCP at DIW 2027.
How is DIW related to the OCP Global Summit?
The OCP Global Summit is the Open Compute Project's own annual event: October 12-15, 2026 in San Jose, and October 4-7, 2027 at the Moscone Center, San Francisco. Digital Infrastructure World is a separate February event in San Jose, run by CloserStill Media in collaboration with OCP, that puts OCP Tech Day alongside the Cluster, Data Center and Energy tracks.
How can I become a speaker?
Talk proposals close on December 1, 2026 at 11:59pm Pacific. Submit a session through the call for speakers.
When does the full agenda go live?
The Digital Infrastructure World 2027 agenda is on the site now and fills in as speakers are confirmed. Speakers are announced on a rolling basis, and the full agenda is published ahead of the event. Agenda at a glance shows the running order for both days. Full agenda
How long are sessions?
Presentations and fireside chats run 25 minutes and panels run 35 minutes, with five minutes of changeover between sessions. Mainstage keynotes run 25 minutes. Each track opens with a five-minute introduction and closes each day on a panel. Agenda at a glance
Are any sessions sponsored?
Yes, and they are labeled as sponsored. Everything else at Digital Infrastructure World 2027 is chosen on merit. The Rack track (OCP Tech Day) carries no sponsored sessions, and the OCP keynotes and panels are never sold. Conference tracks
What happens after I submit a talk?
The program team reviews every proposal and replies by email. Rack track sessions are curated by the Open Compute Project. After you submit, you can add a headshot, your LinkedIn profile and a short bio: proposals with a full speaker profile are easier to review and accept. Questions go to Megan Lennox, Director of Content. Call for speakers
Can I submit a talk for someone else, or propose a panel?
Yes. Choose 'For someone else' on the speaker step and add your own name and email as the submitter: replies come to you. You can add up to six more people to any format as co-presenters, panelists or moderators. Panels take three or four voices; fireside chats take two. Call for speakers
